Khana bajana at Bharat Shah's son's wedding
Rajiv has brought in master chefs from Agra, Amritsar and Italy to cook up mouth-watering dishes; a special silver stage and live entertainment are also a part of the ceremony at Mahalaxmi Turf Club today (5th February 2009)
Diamond trader and film financier Bharat Shahs youngest son's wedding surely promises to be a delicious affair. Rajiv, who is to wed model Himani Ravat at the Mahalaxmi Turf Club today, has personally chosen the menu after sampling goodies prepared by master chefs from Agra, Amritsar and Italy, revealed sources.
Food zone
While the chefs from Agra will make the chaat, the chefs from Italy will whip up the pasta. Two enclosures at turf club have been reserved as food zone.
The 2,000 guests that are expected at the wedding will get to indulge their palates in 150 dishes — including Lebanese, Japanese, Mangalorian and Thai cuisines — which will be spread across 28 stalls. While the rest of the cuisines will be served at the stalls, the Indian food will be served to the guests on their plates. Also, the dessert menu alone includes 30 dishes.
The family has employed the same caterers who served at ex-revenue minister Narayan Rane's son, Nilesh's wedding. Sanjay Vajirani, owner of Food Link confirmed that they will cater the wedding today.
Event management agency Wizcraft has been given charge of organising live entertainment and will also set up a special stage, all festooned in silver.
According to the sources, "More than 50 top security personnel have been appointed by Bharat Shah, as the guests include VVIPS. A special band is to perform at the wedding."
