Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao became proud parents of a baby boy on December 1. The baby was born through IVF to a surrogate mother at a private clinic in Mumbai.
Apparently, Aamir sent a letter to Mumbai-based tabloids, stating: 'It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty. Due to medical complications, we were advised to have a baby through IVF -Surrogacy and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that everything has gone well. We are so happy and would like to thank all our well wishers'
The couple who were married in December 2005 in Panchgani had earlier suffered a tragic loss when they lost their first baby in 2009. Aamir had then written on his blog, on 12 August, 2009, titled, I will be away for a while.
“I have bad news folks. Kiran and I lost our baby. Despite our best efforts we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last 2 months have been a struggle for us and that is one of the reasons I was absent from the blog in more ways than one. K and I need time to heal. I will be away for a while. Love.”
Aamir has two other children - Junaid (Photo 1, Photo 2) and Ira (Photo 1, Photo 2) - from his first wife, Reena Dutta. This new addition to their family is Kiran’s first baby and Aamir Khan's third after Junaid and Ira.
